Active water is a critical control parameter (CCP) in the microbiological, chemical, biological, and physical
stability of products & processes that can have adverse effect on their identity, quality, purity, or potency
of a product as they may relate to their safety & effectiveness. OPULUS is the only company to offer 21 CFR
Part 11 compliant systems with SQL database, sample information management, SQC, & SPC for active water measurement
and for the evaluation its effects on the quality of products & processes.
HygroQuant - HygroQuant line of water activity analytical systems have been
developed by Opulus to provide the broadest range of instrumentation and software from the most economical to
the most advanced. Three classes of solution products are offered:

HygroQuant_Jr ("HQ_Jr"), includes a palm-size measurement device with integrated sample compartment,
USB, RS232, or parallel interface, and application software. Accuracy of the water activity measurements
is ± 0.01 aw (resolution is ± 0.001 aw), temperature measurement accuracy
of the sample compartment is ± 0.1 °C. Both graphical & tabular reports can be printed &
viewed. All data can be saved, retrieved for later use, and exported to Excel. Options include: IQ-OQ-PQ,
SOP(s) for calibration & sample determination, and SOP competency training.

HygroQuant_Jr ("HQ_ST"), is a thermoelectric (Peltier) regulated programmed temperature version of
HQ_Jr with enhanced software capability. Temperature programming is software controlled between 0 to 65 °C
with ± 0.1 °C accuracy. Options include: Water Vapor Transmission attachment, IQ-OQ-PQ, SOP(s)
for calibration, sample determination, and SOP competency training.

HygroQuant_Jr ("HQ11_ST"), is SQL database driven 21 CFR Part 11 compliant version of HQ_ST.
HygroQuant11_ST includes sample information management, SQC, & SPC. IQ-OQ-PQ and 21 CFR Part 11
verification options are available. Options include: Water Vapor Transmission attachment, IQ-OQ-PQ,
21 CFR Part 11 verification, SOP(s) for calibration, sample determination, and SOP competency training.

HygroQuant_Jr ("HQCM11_AD"), is a 21 CFR Part 11 compliant product, that utilizes Quartz Crystal
Microbalance (QCM) & dual thermoelectric (Peltier) controls for the determination of water activity by
dew point measurement. Three sample compartments are available for parallel analysis. In addition to
the highly accurate water activity measurements (< 0.001 aw) sophisticated isotherm studies can be
performed on the samples. HQCM11_AD includes sample information management, SQC, & SPC. Options
include: Water Vapor Transmission attachment, IQ-OQ-PQ, 21 CFR Part 11 verification, SOP(s) for
calibration, sample determination, and SOP competency training.
Each HygroQuant system is calibrated relative to NIST reference and Certificate of Calibration is included with
each system.
